Hello darlings & damoiselles, thank you to all who came to JULY SCRIBES. Such fun! Huge thanks for Lauren Yates for featuring.
This month is a special special one at SCRIBES. Just so y’all know, Atlas & I are publisher siblings, which means we have books published thru the same press. Two books each, actually. Come to the event & chat with us to find out more! I’ve loved their work for such a long time now. & of course the inimitable SCRIBES photographer & SCRIBES BESTIE, c.r. hooker!!!! Flier below.
HERE are the photos from July SCRIBES, photographed by Cait!! Thank you for putting in such good work! We love you!
I’d love to hype these poets up to you more, but nothing compares to experiencing it for yourself. Here’s some information about the wonderful features at August SCRIBES:
atlas st cloud is a wasteland haunt. he writes about gender, faggotry, & Madness through the lens of physical disability. unavoidably raised mormon & in lust with the catholic aesthetic, st cloud's religious trauma manifests in his blasphemous body horror. check out his catalogue with Kith Books and catch him on most social media sites @drdissociation
HERE is a poem by Atlas:
c.r. hooker (they/them) is a nonbinary, bisexual poet and artist born and raised in the unforgiving heat of the Arizona desert. c.r. graduated from the University of Arizona with a BA in Creative Writing & a BA in Film & Television studies. They are the photographer for Scribes on South and currently call the concrete jungle of Philadelphia their home. Their work has been featured in fifth wheel press and they aspire to publish many more pieces and eventually a collection of poetry (so stay tuned!) When not writing poetry, they can be found covered in paint or playing with their cat.

Do you feel the hype? I do!
Until August 31, stay sane, stay safe, stay writing, stay ready. I love you all see you at SCRIBES xoxoxoxoxooxox
